Successful drilling and testing
03.09.20183 months after the commencement of drilling on the 25.07.2018, the drilling and testing of the first geothermal well (Schäftlarnstrasse Th1), at the location of the southern power station (HKW-Süd) in the Sendling district in Munich, was completed at the end of july.

The well was drilled to a final depth of 3.860 m MD, with an eastly deflection. The pump tests have confirmed the expected productivity of the well with a flow rate and temperature which lie in the upper bounds of the predicitions. Temperature readings lie over 100 °C. This well is the first deep well (of many) to be drilled in central Munich for the purpose of utilising the Malm formation. The results have confirmed the extremely positive hydraulic properties of the thermal water reservoir for the project location at the southern power station (HKW-Süd). The drilling rig has been skidded to the second, of a total six, well location, where the drilling has started in august.
