Des mod\u00e8les et des exemples pratiques le montrent\u00a0: les centrales g\u00e9othermiques respectent l\u2019environnement et sont rentables. Seulement voil\u00e0, les centrales g\u00e9othermiques ne rapportent pas de l\u2019argent d\u00e8s le premier jour, il faut du temps pour observer les premiers b\u00e9n\u00e9fices.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

La Suisse est largement d\u00e9pendante de l\u2019\u00e9tranger en termes de combustibles fossiles. Nous d\u00e9pensons annuellement 10 milliards de francs pour importer du p\u00e9trole et du gaz. \u00ab\u00a0Nous pourrions utiliser ces milliards de mani\u00e8re plus judicieuse dans le pays, notamment pour la g\u00e9othermie\u00a0\u00bb estime Rolf W\u00fcstenhagen, Professeur et directeur de l\u2019Institut pour l\u2019Economie et l\u2019Ecologie de la Haute Ecole de St Gall.<\/p>\n

Profitable \u00e0 moyen terme<\/strong><\/p>\n

Les projets de g\u00e9othermie profonde sont-ils donc rentables? A court terme non, \u00e0 moyen et long terme oui. C\u2019est en substance le message des diff\u00e9rents orateurs du 5\u00e8me<\/sup> congr\u00e8s international de g\u00e9othermie qui s\u2019est tenu le 26 mai 2016 \u00e0 St Gall. En se fondant sur un mod\u00e8le int\u00e9grants les co\u00fbts physiques et le cycle de vie Warren Schenler de l\u2019institut Paul Scherrer (PSI) arrive \u00e0 la conclusion\u00a0: si en plus de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 produite un projet de g\u00e9othermie profonde peut vendre la chaleur r\u00e9siduelle non utilis\u00e9e \u00e0 la production d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, alors la rentabilit\u00e9 de ce projet augmente. Par exemple\u00a0: pour une centrale g\u00e9othermique avec 2 forages (doublet) qui vendrait \u00e9galement de la chaleur, le prix du kilowattheure descendrait \u00e0 15.8 ct.<\/p>\n

Unterschleissheim: un projet de g\u00e9othermie qui rapporte de l\u2019argent<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thomas Stockerl de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Geothermie Unterschleissheim SA (GTU) pr\u00e8s de Munich consolide les calculs th\u00e9oriques de Schenler avec un exemple pratique. La ville qui compte 27’000 habitants exploite depuis 2003 une centrale de chauffage g\u00e9othermique. Environ 30% de tous les m\u00e9nages ainsi que de nombreux bureaux et b\u00e2timents commerciaux, mais aussi plusieurs b\u00e2timents municipaux sont chauff\u00e9s gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un r\u00e9seau de chaleur \u00e0 distance aliment\u00e9 par la g\u00e9othermie. L\u2019eau d\u2019une temp\u00e9rature de 79\u00b0C provient de 2 km de profondeur.<\/p>\n

En 2014, l\u2019installation d\u2019une puissance de 34, 7 MW a atteint le seuil de rentabilit\u00e9 14 ans plus t\u00f4t que ce qui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9vu lors de la mise en exploitation\u00a0!<\/p>\n

De surco\u00eet entre 2003 et 2015 se sont environ 93’000 tonnes de CO2 qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9conomis\u00e9es.
