Le fournisseur d’\u00e9nergie de la ville de Berne, Energie Wasser Bern ewb, a interrompu le projet pilote de \u00ab stockage g\u00e9ologique \u00bb. La phase de test a montr\u00e9 que le sous-sol n’\u00e9tait pas assez perm\u00e9able \u00e0 l’eau. Avec ce projet, ewb voulait stocker la chaleur exc\u00e9dentaire produite en \u00e9t\u00e9 par la centrale \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique \u00ab Forsthaus \u00bb dans le sous-sol gr\u00e9seux situ\u00e9 \u00e0 proximit\u00e9, pour l’utiliser en hiver.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Avec le g\u00e9o-accumulateur, ewb visait un stockage \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature dans le sous-sol. L’id\u00e9e : stocker la chaleur exc\u00e9dentaire produite en \u00e9t\u00e9 par l’usine de traitement des ordures m\u00e9nag\u00e8res et les rejets thermiques des entreprises industrielles et la r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer en hiver – lors de besoins \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques accrus. La client\u00e8le d’ewb aurait alors pu utiliser cette chaleur pour le chauffage via le r\u00e9seau de chauffage urbain.<\/p>\n

Le projet \u00e9tait ambitieux et avait un caract\u00e8re pionnier, car il n’existe rien de comparable dans le monde. Cependant, apr\u00e8s trois forages d’exploration \u00e0 500 m\u00e8tres de profondeur, il s’av\u00e8re que les couches de gr\u00e8s du sous-sol ne se pr\u00eatent pas au stockage. Le gr\u00e8s laisse passer moins d’eau que d’autres sites sur lesquels ewb avait pr\u00e9alablement effectu\u00e9 des tests. L’eau ne circule pas assez, ce qui ne permet pas de stocker la chaleur dans une quantit\u00e9 suffisante. Les mesures qui auraient d\u00fb permettre d’augmenter la perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9 de la roche n’ont pas non plus donn\u00e9 satisfaction. Les technologies n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 cet effet ne sont en partie qu’en cours de d\u00e9veloppement.<\/p>\n

Sur la base de ces conclusions, ewb a stopp\u00e9 le projet de stockage g\u00e9ologique et \u00e9tudie des concepts thermiques alternatifs qui r\u00e9pondent aux besoins croissants du chauffage \u00e0 distance. Il s’agit notamment de la centrale \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique de Buech, qui doit stocker la chaleur r\u00e9siduelle dans des champs de sondes g\u00e9othermiques.<\/p>\n
