Actuellement, cette \u00e9nergie en ruban renouvelable, neutre en CO2 et locale fournit environ 5% des besoins en chaleur de la Suisse, principalement avec la g\u00e9othermie de faible profondeur. Ce segment de la g\u00e9othermie a connu un d\u00e9veloppement constant ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es et peut \u00eatre doubl\u00e9. Dans le domaine de la g\u00e9othermie hydrothermale de moyenne profondeur, il existe en Suisse un potentiel inexploit\u00e9: cette source d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie est utilis\u00e9e pour les bains thermaux. Ceci est bien connu. Ce que l&rsquo;on sait moins, c&rsquo;est que cette m\u00eame source d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie permet de chauffer des quartiers avec des r\u00e9seaux de chauffage \u00e0 distance et que cette chaleur peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e dans l&rsquo;agriculture pour les serres ainsi que pour la chaleur des processus industriels. Dans les pays voisins de la Suisse, cela se fait d\u00e9j\u00e0 beaucoup. Cette source de chauffage, \u00e9prouv\u00e9e, n&rsquo;est que peu utilis\u00e9e en Suisse pour l&rsquo;instant.
