Outre le chauffage urbain, le refroidissement urbain rev\u00eat \u00e9galement une importance croissante. En raison du r\u00e9chauffement climatique, les locaux commerciaux sont de plus en plus souvent refroidis en \u00e9t\u00e9.
\n<\/strong>La ville de Munich joue un r\u00f4le de pionnier dans ce domaine. Au sud de la ville, le r\u00e9seau de froid urbain, qui s’\u00e9tend d\u00e9j\u00e0 sur 22 kilom\u00e8tres, est en cours d’extension.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00c0 partir de fin 2023, le froid du site \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique sud de Munich-Sendling devrait affluer vers le centre-ville en passant par l’Isarvorstadt et le Ludwigsvorstadt. La chaleur issue de la g\u00e9othermie et de la cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration qui s’y trouve sera \u00e9galement utilis\u00e9e pour la production de froid \u00e0 distance. Les services municipaux de Munich (SWM) disposent d\u00e9j\u00e0 d’un r\u00e9seau de froid urbain de 22 kilom\u00e8tres et continuent \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l’approvisionnement en froid urbain pour Munich de mani\u00e8re cons\u00e9quente.<\/p>\n

La nouvelle centrale de refroidissement \u00e0 distance de Munich permettra \u00e0 l’avenir de climatiser davantage de clients commerciaux tels que des h\u00f4tels, des immeubles de bureaux et des immeubles de commerce de d\u00e9tail – et ce de mani\u00e8re durable. Le refroidissement urbain fonctionne de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re que le chauffage urbain : un syst\u00e8me de canalisations est utilis\u00e9 pour transporter l’\u00e9nergie thermique vers les b\u00e2timents via des \u00e9changeurs de chaleur. Depuis le site \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique sud de Munich-Sendling, de l’eau \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures de 6 \u00e0 10 degr\u00e9s Celsius doit \u00eatre inject\u00e9e dans le r\u00e9seau de froid urbain. Dans les b\u00e2timents raccord\u00e9s, l’\u00e9changeur de chaleur absorbe l’\u00e9nergie provenant de la climatisation des b\u00e2timents. L’eau chauff\u00e9e retourne au site \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique sud en circuit ferm\u00e9, est \u00e0 nouveau refroidie et r\u00e9utilis\u00e9e dans les b\u00e2timents \u00e0 refroidir.<\/p>\n

Compar\u00e9 au refroidissement par des climatiseurs domestiques d\u00e9centralis\u00e9s et conventionnels, le refroidissement urbain permet d’\u00e9conomiser jusqu’\u00e0 70% de la consommation d’\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et de r\u00e9duire d’autant les \u00e9missions de CO2. De plus, le refroidissement urbain est \u00e9cologique et durable lorsqu’il est possible d’utiliser le froid naturel des nappes phr\u00e9atiques ou des rivi\u00e8res. C’est le cas \u00e0 Munich-Sendling : la nouvelle centrale de refroidissement utilise entre autres l’eau fra\u00eeche du canal de l’Isarwerk pour produire le froid \u00e0 distance. Comme il s’agit d’un syst\u00e8me ferm\u00e9, il n’y a pas d’intervention directe sur l’\u00e9cologie aquatique. Le nouveau projet de refroidissement urbain \u00e0 Munich a \u00e9galement de nombreux effets positifs sur l’urbanisme. L’approvisionnement central en froid urbain permet d’\u00e9viter l’installation de groupes frigorifiques suppl\u00e9mentaires sur les toits du centre-ville.<\/p>\n

De plus, le microclimat du centre-ville s’am\u00e9liore car, contrairement aux climatiseurs domestiques d\u00e9centralis\u00e9s, le froid urbain n’\u00e9met pas de chaleur perdue dans le centre-ville, d\u00e9j\u00e0 chauff\u00e9 en \u00e9t\u00e9. Le froid urbain contribue \u00e0 lutter contre le r\u00e9chauffement global de Munich et \u00e0 couvrir les besoins croissants en froid de la grande ville tout en respectant l’environnement. Au final, le site \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique sud produira une \u00e9nergie de refroidissement de 36 m\u00e9gawatts, ce qui correspond \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s aux besoins de refroidissement de la chaleur produite sur place par la g\u00e9othermie. L’extension du r\u00e9seau de froid \u00e0 distance de Munich fait de la nouvelle centrale de froid \u00e0 distance la plus grande d’Europe.<\/p>\n
