Le CHGEOL Award 2019 est attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 un travail de Master \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Neuch\u00e2tel. L\u2019autrice est Morgane Koumrouyan. Dans son travail, elle a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 une caract\u00e9risation g\u00e9om\u00e9canique du bassin genevois dans le cadre du premier puits d\u2019exploration du programme GEothermie 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Afin d\u2019\u00e9valuer le potentiel g\u00e9othermique du bassin genevois, le programme GEothermie 2020, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par les Services Industriels de Gen\u00e8ve (SIG) et par le Canton de Gen\u00e8ve, a d\u00e9but\u00e9 en 2012 et pr\u00e9voit la mise en place de quatre forages exploratoires ciblant diverses configurations de syst\u00e8mes de failles. La productivit\u00e9 de ces puits en termes de d\u00e9bit et de temp\u00e9rature est directement li\u00e9e aux caract\u00e9ristiques g\u00e9ologiques propres au r\u00e9servoir rocheux. Ainsi, l\u2019\u00e9valuation des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des roches est indispensable dans le but de d\u00e9velopper des projets g\u00e9othermiques.<\/p>\n

\"Sch\u00e9ma<\/a>

Sch\u00e9ma conceptuel du puits GEo-01 dans le bassin genevois et des principaux param\u00e8tres contr\u00f4lant l\u2019\u00e9coulement d\u2019eau souterraine.<\/p><\/div>\n

L\u2019objectif de cette recherche est de r\u00e9aliser une caract\u00e9risation g\u00e9om\u00e9canique initiale du bassin <\/span>genevois, et plus sp\u00e9cifiquement du r\u00e9servoir calcaire fractur\u00e9 compos\u00e9 d\u2019unit\u00e9s du Cr\u00e9tac\u00e9 inf\u00e9rieur. Cela s\u2019effectue par l\u2019analyse des imageries et des diagraphies acquises dans le premier puits d\u2019exploration, GEo-01, for\u00e9 en 2018 \u00e0 Satigny. L\u2019\u00e9tude se focalise sur l\u2019\u00e9valuation de la distribution des fractures, du champ de contraintes et des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques des calcaires fractur\u00e9s pr\u00e9sents autour du forage. <\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019analyse des fractures est, tout d\u2019abord, particuli\u00e8rement importante puisque celles-ci sont responsables de l\u2019augmentation de la perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9 du bassin et permettent \u00e0 l\u2019eau chaude de circuler plus ais\u00e9ment dans le r\u00e9servoir et le puits. Les analyses r\u00e9v\u00e8lent que l\u2019orientation et l\u2019intensit\u00e9 de ces fractures varient avec la profondeur. La pr\u00e9sence d\u2019une zone de faille induit de nombreuses discontinuit\u00e9s et stimule le d\u00e9veloppement de r\u00e9seaux de fractures, qui peuvent se comporter comme d\u2019importants conduits hydrauliques.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ensuite, les modules \u00e9lastiques caract\u00e9risant la rigidit\u00e9 des roches du r\u00e9servoir sont extraits \u00e0 partir des donn\u00e9es de diagraphie acquises dans le forage GEo-01. En fonction de la nature des roches, de grands contrastes de rigidit\u00e9 sont mis en \u00e9vidence et peuvent affecter la distribution des fractures ainsi que l\u2019\u00e9tat des contraintes dans les roches. La r\u00e9alisation d\u2019un mod\u00e8le g\u00e9om\u00e9canique \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle locale permet d\u2019estimer et de quantifier les accumulations de contraintes dans les couches les plus rigides. Cet aspect est important afin de comprendre les m\u00e9canismes de rupture des roches et d\u2019assurer la stabilit\u00e9 du puits.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enfin, une relation entre la stabilit\u00e9 des fractures et les venues d\u2019eau est mise en \u00e9vidence et pourrait influencer la perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9 du r\u00e9servoir. Cette derni\u00e8re est par ailleurs fortement augment\u00e9e par la pr\u00e9sence de r\u00e9seaux karstiques bien d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s dans les carbonates du Cr\u00e9tac\u00e9 inf\u00e9rieur. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Synth\u00e8se<\/a>

Synth\u00e8se des r\u00e9sultats: caract\u00e9risation des fractures, analyses de la forme du puits, \u00e9valuation de la rigidit\u00e9 des roches et estimation de l\u2019\u00e9tat des contraintes le long du puits GEo-01.<\/p><\/div>\n

Les r\u00e9sultats de cette recherche montrent, en cons\u00e9quence, que la productivit\u00e9 de ce puits marqu\u00e9 par un d\u00e9bit art\u00e9sien \u00e9lev\u00e9, est principalement contr\u00f4l\u00e9e, d\u2019une part, par la pr\u00e9sence de failles traversant le bassin et influen\u00e7ant la distribution des fractures, et d\u2019autre part, par le grand potentiel de karstification des calcaires composant le r\u00e9servoir. Les caract\u00e9ristiques g\u00e9om\u00e9caniques et hydrog\u00e9ologiques de cet aquif\u00e8re productif conf\u00e8rent donc au bassin genevois un bon potentiel d\u2019exploitation g\u00e9othermique. Les prochains puits d\u2019exploration du programme permettront d\u2019\u00e9tudier le comportement hydrodynamique d\u2019aquif\u00e8res plus profonds et d\u2019accro\u00eetre la connaissance g\u00e9ologique du sous-sol genevois afin d\u2019augmenter le succ\u00e8s de futurs projets g\u00e9othermiques.<\/p>\n
