Cet objectif z\u00e9ro net a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cid\u00e9 par le Conseil f\u00e9d\u00e9ral en 2019. Pour atteindre cet objectif, il convient d\u2019explorer les capacit\u00e9s de stockage souterrain et de r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions, en particulier dans les secteurs du b\u00e2timent et de l\u2019industrie. (Source: Chris Zu\u0308ger \/ Unsplash)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Tableau cible 2050<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u00c0 l\u2019avenir, la g\u00e9othermie fournira au moins 17 TWh\/an de chaleur pour le parc immobilier suisse et pour les processus industriels. Elle couvrira ainsi au moins un quart du besoin de chaleur suisse. Actuellement, nous produisons d\u00e9j\u00e0 4 TWh\/an de chaleur g\u00e9othermique, provenant principalement de faible profondeur. Cette production \u00e0 faible profondeur peut \u00eatre plus que doubl\u00e9e. Le potentiel provenant de la g\u00e9othermie profonde n\u2019est pas encore exploit\u00e9. Actuellement, seulement 0,2 TWh\/an sont utilis\u00e9s. Le potentiel \u00e9conomiquement exploitable de la g\u00e9othermie \u00e0 moyenne et grande profondeur est d\u2019au moins 8 TWh\/an et peut \u00eatre exploit\u00e9 par \u00e9tapes d\u2019ici 2050 \u2013 \u00e0 des prix comp\u00e9titifs pour exploitants et clients finaux.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/491202584?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen\" allowfullscreen title=\"Pensez-vous &amp;agrave; la g&amp;eacute;othermie?\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Potentiel de la g\u00e9othermie profonde<br \/>\n<\/strong>Le potentiel g\u00e9ologique de fourniture de chaleur pour la g\u00e9othermie \u00e0 moyenne et grande profondeur en Suisse est d\u2019environ 100 TWh\/an. En th\u00e9orie, cela permettrait de couvrir l\u2019ensemble des besoins en chaleur de la Suisse. Toutefois, le potentiel d\u2019exploitation mobilisable est plus faible. En effet, cette source de chaleur est une ressource locale et ne peut \u00eatre transport\u00e9e sur de grandes distances. Outre le potentiel g\u00e9ologique, il existe donc aussi des aspects g\u00e9ographiques et \u00e9conomiques \u00e0 prendre en compte. Cette analyse globale a pour r\u00e9sultat un potentiel exploitable et \u00e9conomiquement comp\u00e9titif d\u2019environ 8 TWh\/an. Les consommateurs d\u2019\u00e9nergie g\u00e9othermique profonde sont les quartiers, les zones urbaines, l\u2019artisanat, l\u2019industrie et l\u2019agriculture. Exception faite des grands consommateurs individuels, ce type de g\u00e9othermie d\u00e9pendra toujours des r\u00e9seaux thermiques comme moyen de transport. D\u2019ici 2050, les r\u00e9seaux thermiques devraient distribuer environ 23 TWh\/an de chaleur. (Source: swisstopo)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Que faut-il pour exploiter le potentiel de la g\u00e9othermie profonde?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Explorer le sous-sol: celui-ci doit \u00eatre mieux connu, et ce, sur l\u2019ensemble du territoire au niveau national. Une meilleure connaissance du sous-sol permettra aux d\u00e9cideurs de prendre en main plus facilement des projets, de d\u00e9terminer les emplacements id\u00e9aux pour des sites de forage et, de mani\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, de minimiser les risques.<\/li>\n<li>D\u00e9velopper les r\u00e9seaux thermiques: ceux-ci sont essentiels au d\u00e9veloppement de la g\u00e9othermie profonde. L\u2019extension de ces r\u00e9seaux est \u00e9conomiquement judicieuse dans les zones \u00e0 forte densit\u00e9 de population.<\/li>\n<li>Construire des installations de g\u00e9othermie de moyenne et grande profondeur: partant d\u2019un potentiel utilisable et \u00e9conomiquement comp\u00e9titif de 8 TWh\/an, env. 250 installations seront n\u00e9cessaires. Concr\u00e8tement, de 2025 \u00e0 2050, il faudra mettre en service en moyenne dix installations par an pour atteindre cet objectif. Les co\u00fbts globaux d\u2019investissement de ces 250 installations s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8vent \u00e0 quelque six milliards de fr., soit 240 millions de fr. par an, hors subventions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Autres utilisations de la g\u00e9othermie<br \/>\n<\/strong>Le potentiel principal de la g\u00e9othermie r\u00e9side dans la mise \u00e0 disposition de la chaleur. Selon l\u2019emplacement, la profondeur et la saison, les installations peuvent \u00eatre envisag\u00e9es pour des utilisations suppl\u00e9mentaires, ce qui les rend \u00e9conomiquement encore plus attrayantes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Production de froid: utilisation directe jusqu\u2019\u00e0 200 m\u00e8tres de profondeur et d\u00e8s env. 2000 m\u00e8tres et au moins 80\u00b0C (installations de r\u00e9frig\u00e9ration par absorption).<\/li>\n<li>Stockage saisonnier: dans des champs de sondes g\u00e9othermiques ou des aquif\u00e8res. Ces derniers peuvent stocker la chaleur exc\u00e9dentaire, comme par exemple celle des usines d\u2019incin\u00e9ration des ordures m\u00e9nag\u00e8res pendant les mois d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>Production d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9: en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d\u00e8s environ 3000 m\u00e8tres de profondeur et une temp\u00e9rature de quelque 110\u00b0C, des installations peuvent \u00eatre mises en service pour l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et de la chaleur.<\/li>\n<li>Extraction d\u2018\u00e9l\u00e9ments: des \u00e9l\u00e9ments tels le lithium dissous dans l\u2019eau profonde de la g\u00e9othermie peuvent \u00eatre extraits de mani\u00e8re \u00e9cologique gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 de nouveaux proc\u00e9d\u00e9s lors de l\u2019exploitation g\u00e9othermique.
